Concept Development: CooCooNut Love Animatic

For our final Concept project in Concept Development I, we were allowed to develop our own story idea. The only requirements are that the animatic had to be under one minute, and the story had to have two characters that wanted the same thing.

The first part of the process after we had our stories mapped out was to develop character designs and a basic birds eye view plan of the space in which our story was going to take place.

The next part of the process was to determine the seven key points in the story and illustrate them Here are mine: (as you can see my story changed a bit through the process)

This was the first pass animatic of my story:

And here is the final animatic….I hope you enjoy!!

Computer Animation: Simple Poly Exercises

Simple Poly was our final assignment of Computer Animation I. We had to design, build, and rig a simple round shaped character with legs and an object that can act as a follow through action. My character is a Christmas Elf, and his follow through motions are on is shoe toes and hat.

These were my possible character designs:

This is my final character design:

For this exercise we had to animate our character turning around at least 90 degrees. My Elf seems to have had a bit too much eggnog and is still feeling a bit tipsy!

For the next exercise we had to animate our character in a standard walk cycle.

For the last exercise we had to animate our character jumping.
